Thanks for tuning in So many of us have issues after we have a meal with our stomachs, whether that’s acid reflux, indigestion, gas, bloating, and as it turns out, a lot of this has to do with low stomach acid Let’s go talk to Doc Nuzum and find out more now Dr Daniel Nuzum: I’m going to take you through my favorite remedies for low stomach acid production

My favorite remedies are, number one, fulvic acid Good fulvic acid will have a pH of about 2-3 So, if you consume fulvic acid while you’re eating, you’re adding some acid into the system that will help bring the stomach pH down quicker It also stimulates the stomach to produce more acid The next one is iodine

Hydrochloric acid-producing cells in the stomach need iodine in order to produce the hydrochloric acid My next most favorite remedy for low stomach acid production is probiotics Probiotics affect stomach acid production via the rest of the digestive tract What we find is when the microbiome in the lower digestive tract is healthy, the stomach itself starts to become healthier and it starts to produce acid the way it’s supposed to The next remedy I most frequently use is organic apple cider vinegar

I normally use that along with lemon juice, organic, fresh-squeezed lemon juice So, they consume a little bit of apple cider vinegar, a little bit of fresh-squeezed lemon juice with their meal It doesn’t take a whole lot There’s a lot of folks that will take hydrochloric acid pills Long-term use of that will suppress your stomach’s production of hydrochloric acid

We want to enable your body to do this itself So, that way, you’re not dependent on a hydrochloric acid pill every time you eat So, those are my primary remedies There are some secondary remedies that are important here When you’re in a fight or flight state, your body shuts down hydrochloric acid production in your stomach

Things that would help with staying calm, things like l-theanine, the amino acid l-theanine, the herb lemon balm, chamomile The other thing to consume would be adaptogens Again, we’re back to my favorite remedy, adaptogens I love adaptogens And adaptogens, when it comes to the stomach, they help mitigate and modulate our fight or flight response
